WELCOME TO WOODLAKE CONNECTIONS ….

We purchased our first home in Woodlake in 1995 and greatly enjoyed the sense of community we found here.  Much has changed in the last 30 years, but Woodlake remains one of the premier locations to live in Moore County.  This Woodlake Connections website is an attempt to help foster a renewed sense of community by promoting a shared knowledge base among our residents.  We are just getting started…this is a work in progress.

Our initial thoughts were to attempt to create a search engine to help us find trustworthy local service providers.  We can never find the name or phone number for service providers we have used in the past; or find the providers we have heard positive reviews about from a neighbor.  We start a list on a piece of paper and lose the list before we need it again.

To use the service provider search engine simply type in the kind of work you need done (lawn care, plumbing, painting etc.) and click on the search bar.  Information on a local service provider will appear.  We have started by listing providers who tend to be located in the closest proximity to Woodlake.  Each listing has a link to provide a review of the vendor’s performance.  Only service providers with great reviews will be kept on the list.  

We need resident participation to help us find the most reliable providers based upon actual experiences.   As use of this list increases we hope it becomes a tool to insure Woodlake residents have quick access to find the highest performing, most reliable service companies available.

As we continued to work on the site we realized how fragmented internal communication within Woodlake has become.  Facebook provides some communication, but we find it unstructured and almost impossible to find the information we might be looking for.  There were other sites but they all seem to have declined or disappeared entirely.  

So we expanded the scope of our effort and the current structure of this site is an attempt to address all types of community needs… service providers, community resources, weather, a community forum for discussions.  It will take a continuing effort to build and maintain, but most of all it will require resident input.  With your help Woodlake Connections will become the ONE BEST SOURCE for information within our community.
